ACHIEVEMENT, COMMITMENT, COMMUNITY WHILE EDUCATING EVERY CHILD, EVERYDAY.
Wellington Middle School’s counseling department uses the American School Counseling Association’s National Model for a comprehensive, data-driven, school counseling program. In short, this means that the counselors are available to provide support to students, staff and families in a variety of ways including:
- Scheduling and Registration
- College and Career Exploration
- High School Planning
- Personal and Social Development
- Crisis Intervention
- Greif and Loss
- Strategies for Academic Success
We strive to make a difference in the lives of our students by providing them with the academic, career and social/emotional skills necessary for a productive learning experience. We use a combination of individual and small group counseling, as well as classroom guidance lessons, to ensure all dimensions of our guidance program are accessible to ALL students. In addition, our building-wide programs focus on building a culture of Community, Commitment and Achievement for all students, staff and families.
As part of the PSD community, our ultimate goal is to acknowledge that every student is unique and important and encourage them to maximize their potential and academic achievement (ASCA). We strive to promote a lifestyle of learning and teach students to accept increased responsibility for their own personal development while providing them with a fun and worthwhile educational experience.
Welcome Wellington Students and Families!
This link will bring you to the Naviance Family Connection log on page. In middle school, our goal is to have every student familiar with the Naviance program because it is a great resource for college and career information. Naviance is used widely at the high school level where students will use their account to communicate with counselors, register for classes and plan for post-secondary college and career decisions. Please feel free to explore the site and have fun!
