Mrs Russell was born in Florida and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1996. She attended Beattie Elementary, Boltz Junior High and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School. She then earned a B.A, in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a M.A. in Special Education - Generalist from the University of Northern Colorado. She enjoys spending her free time hiking in the mountains with her family and dog.
Mrs Russell states that she enjoys teaching because she is able to work with a variety of students and diverse learners in multiple environments throughout the community and the school. She describes her classroom as a positive and safe environment for all students to enjoy learning and foster independent skills as developing adolescents. She says that, "as a class, we strive to model positive behavior, student dedication to learning and a hard work ethic. I believe that WMS is a wonderful place to teach and the student culture reflects the passion and talent of it's many dedicated teachers and staff."
