Important Information:

Incoming Runners: Please complete the Runner's Profile (located in the documents section) and email to Coach Callor in order to help create a custom summer training plan.

Summer Training: Beginning June 13th! 

-Mondays 7:30 am @ Wellington Middle-High School

-Wednesdays 7:30 am @ Lee Martinez Park (600 N Sherwood St, Fort Collins, 80521)

-Fridays 7:30 am @ Spring Canyon Park-Near the dog park on the Horsetooth side of the park.

BRING WATER AND SNACKS.  RECOVERY STARTS AFTER THE RUN!  We would also highly recommend a hand-held water bottle for hydrating on the run, as well as an energy gel for continuous runs lasting longer than 60 minutes.

Paperwork Week: August 1st-5th.  Get ALL paperwork done and into the main office!  You will not be able to practice with the team starting August 8th, if you do not have ALL of your paperwork in, and fees paid!


Fall Official Practice: Monday, August 8th-Saturday, October 29th @ TBD @ WHS. 

All required paperwork must be turned into the athletic office in order to practice.

Summer Workout Components:

  1. Trail/Mountain/Long runs
  2. Hill Intervals
  3. Tempo/Threshold/CV runs
  4. Easy progressing to medium runs
  5. Speed
  6. Easy/Recovery runs

With the combination of the ingredients above, you will become a well-rounded, fit runner that is ready for the demands of the season.  A good summer of training is crucial to your success as an Eagle runner!

The components above will be worked into the athlete’s summer training plan, and progress throughout the season.  INCOMING 9th and 10th GRADERS: FILL OUT THE ATHLETE PROFILE BY THE WEEK OF MAY 30th TO GET YOUR SUMMER TRAINING PLAN THAT WILL START ON JUNE 13TH! 

Important Gear:

  1. Good running shoes.  Get a good pair of training shoes.  Altitude Running (2531 S. Shields, Fort Collins, 80526) gives discounts to cross-country athletes.  It is good to have 2 pairs of shoes total (1 for summer training, 1 for the season).
  2. Watch.  A basic watch with a chronograph will work, but it is nice to have a GPS to make sure you are getting the proper amount of mileage in.
  3. Moisture wicking clothing and socks.  Try to avoid running in cotton, especially on longer days or during harder workouts when you might sweat more.

-Single most important reason why we will be successful this fall?  Consistent summer running as a team!  Support each other and hold each other accountable!
